When it was time to make plans for a lucky spring break that we had off, we searched and searched to find the best airfare deal that we could for an interesting place to visit. That place turned out to be Costa Rica!
Costa Rica is an easy flight (when you don’t get stuck on the tarmac with a broken American Airlines plane for 3+hours) from the Southwest and makes for an excellent travel destination. While it’s more expensive and less off the beaten path than many other Central American destinations, Costa Rica is a lovely place that’s easy to get around in, even with my poquito Español.
With its creature comforts and well developed eco-tourism industry, Costa Rica has a lot to offer for ashort jaunt through cloud forests and the pounding Pacific surf. It was easy to get around, fun to see, and full of amazing wildlife, hiking and outdoor adventures (can we say zipline?!).
Most of all, Costa Rica is green. So lush, so green–a complete change of scenery for sure!
